House on the Point – Pool House
House on the Point – Pool House
This 600sf pool pavilion was designed to complete a master plan consisting of a 2700sf main house overlooking the ocean, and pool straddled between the two structures. The pavilion, which consists of a bathroom, sitting room, and small kitchenette is flanked by glass on both sides allowing the sitting area to benefit from both pool and bay views. From the main house the pavilion is transparent enough to see views of the bay beyond, while solid enough to cleverly screen the street and traffic below, allowing for an overall sense of private oasis. The pool itself is a sculptural element, flush with the pavilion deck and surrounded by varieties of native vegetation. Always in conversation, the pool pavilion and main house look across the pool at each other, each offering a distinct experience.
