This apartment borrows its color palette from the surrounding sea, sky and sand. Green and blue tropical water tones are blended with warm yellows in an energetic and bright mix. Our clients were confident in their color choices, moving with us in a direction far from the white box they had purchased. In the Elevator Foyer, we painted everything black, introducing a black mirror and console. Upon arrival, the drama of the space provides a quiet counterpoint to the light and color you are about to experience. Articulated wood panels with acoustic properties wrap the walls of the main spaces, adding warmth and geometry. Light fixtures are sculptural and playful in palette. The furnishings are a blend of midcentury classic pieces, with more custom contemporary designs. Rugs for the Living Room and the Entry Sitting Room were designed with a NY based textile designer. A custom headboard with a sea-glass colored leather wrap anchors the Primary bed. An organic rug provides a soft curved footprint for two low chairs to nestle into the foot of the bed. The careful crafts of furniture making, of textile weaving and of custom metal work, are energized by their collective joie de vivre.
